New Chamber Opera: Requiem for a Lost Girl

Exploring themes of homelessness, poverty, mental illness, addiction and the plight of missing and murdered women - this strikingly original chamber work unfolds as a memorial service for a young woman lost to the street. Requiem for a Lost Girl, written and directed by Onalea Gilbertson, composed and conducted by Marcel Bergmann, is the product of a partnership between Vancouver Opera and The Kettle Society. Participants of The Kettle Society program have been involved in the production of the opera by participating in weekly choral rehearsals, song writing and personal story telling sessions and will be key performers in the opera.
Performances on May 4 & 6, 2018 in Vancouver.
