Education and Artist Training Summit, Opera's Changing Worlds: September 22-23, 2018 in association with Opera McGill and Opéra de Montréal presents the first annual Education and Artist Training Summit: Opera’s Changing Worlds in Montreal.The Summit will be an in-depth exploration of the increasingly diverse career paths for today’s emerging artists, opportunities for greater gender equity among opera creators and administrators, and more direct connection/communication between training programs, universities and the professional producing sector.

The theme of the meeting is Giving Voice to Impact and will be an opportunity to continue our collective journey of increasing opera's civic impact with hands-on sessions on evaluating impact, sampling existing evaluative models within the context of our civically-engaged opera practices. This year's meeting also coincides with closing night of La Traviata, an opportunity for you to experience the fruits of the largest co-production in Canadian history, underwritten by's new Coproduction Loan Program, our first impact investment program.

*New* Governance Series on Diversity and Inclusive Practices

New at this year's AGM, we are excited to announce professional development for Opera company boards in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. A four-part series, the sessions will focus on board composition, self-assessment, unconscious bias training, and inclusive practices. The Governance Series will be held on Saturday, October 27 in Edmonton and concurrent with the Annual General Meeting.
