Education and Artist Training Summit: Opera’s Changing Worlds

Thank you to all the participants of Opera.ca’s Education and Artist Training Summit. The summit was an overwhelming success and with over 120 participants, it was not only Opera.ca’s largest event to date,  but also the most multi-generational! A huge thank you to Opera McGill, Opéra de Montréal and Musique 3 Femmes, as well as to Azrieli Foundation for their support of the Summit.
The Summit was an in-depth exploration of the increasingly diverse career paths for today’s emerging artists, opportunities for greater gender equity among opera creators and administrators, and more direct connection/communication between training programs, universities and the professional producing sector. Reports are being finalized and follow teleconference calls will be scheduled in November.
