Opera.ca Announces Surplus at AGM 2018, Launches new Governance Program in Inclusive Practices

Opera.ca held its Annual General Meeting of Members in Edmonton, Alberta, October 27, 2018.  At the AGM, Opera.ca announced a $2,561 surplus on the year ending June 30, 2018. Also at the AGM, members elected new board members Marion Newman (right) and Chantal Lambert (left), while thanking retiring board members Colleen Sexsmith and Tom Wright. The meeting continued on October 27 with hands-on sessions on evaluating impact, sampling existing evaluative models, and contributing to the development of a nation-wide framework for measuring opera's social and civic impact.
 

Governance Series on Diversity and Inclusive Practice

Opera.ca launched a new program at this year’s annual meeting, a special Governance Series on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion on board composition, unconscious bias training, and inclusive practices. The pilot Governance Series was held on Saturday, October 27, and guided by one of Canada’s leading diversity and inclusion strategists and facilitators.
