New Chair, New Board members, as Opera.ca announces third surplus in a row at AGM 2019

At AGM 2019, Opera.ca announced a $5,391 surplus on the year ending June 30, 2019, the third consecutive operating surplus for the association. At the AGM, the association also welcomed new board chair, Michael Mori, General Director of Tapestry Opera, new Vice-Chair Ian Rye, CEO of Pacific Opera Victoria, and new board members Amy Mushinski and Bruce Munro Wright. In 2020, Opera.ca celebrates its 20th Anniversary!

We are thrilled to be celebrating our milestone 20th anniversary in 2020. Thanks to strong support from our members, Opera.ca celebrates its role as a connector for opera in Canada, regularly convening the entire sector in inclusive, solutions-focused conversations around the future of opera in our country. We are a recognized leader in civic impact for the sector and measuring the value of opera in communities across Canada. We are excited to share our plans for our anniversary in 2020, so stay tuned for announcements in the new year!
 

Christina Loewen delivers keynote address at TAPA AGM on Civic Impact Framework

On Monday, November 25, 2019, Opera.ca's Executive Director Christina Loewen was the keynote speaker at the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) annual general meeting at Crow’s Theatre, sharing the news of the upcoming release of the Opera Civic Impact Framework, as well as plans to scale the framework to a larger digital, arts impact core framework.
