Opera.ca is deeply concerned about the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on the vibrant Opera Sector in Canada. Opera.ca wants to ensure that all of our members have the information and resources that they need during this difficult time.
We have created a living and evolving document on our website, designed to provide factual information and updates on how COVID-19 is affecting the opera sector and for updates on resources for artists and community members.
This document should not be a substitute for official information from public health authorities. For the most up-to-date and authoritative information regarding COVID-19 in Canada, please consult the website of the Public Health Agency of Canada.

The Opera.ca Emergency Opera Artists Relief Fund

Opera artists are the heart of the opera sector, and their economic survival is in jeopardy. In response to the dire need captured by a recent survey conducted by Opera.cathe board of directors of Opera.ca voted for an Opera Artists Emergency Relief Fund to be funded by the association. Although this fund is limited in its financial capacity, Opera.ca is committed to protecting precarious workers in the sector.
