COC’s Centre Stage: A Night of Voices

Congratulations to all the finalists who competed in the Canadian Opera Company’s Centre Stage: A Night of Voices on November 1, 2018. The judges did not have an easy decision, and the competition was fierce. This year's winners: first prize was awarded to Matthew Cairns (tenor), second prize to Vartan Gabrielian (bass-bartione), third prize to Jamie Groote (mezzo-soprano), and audience choice to Andrea Lett (soprano).

IRCPA’s Career Blueprint Winner: Sara Schabas

Congratulations to soprano Sara Schabas, who was selected by mentor Adrianne Pieczonka to receive a Career Blueprint from the International Resource Centre for Performing Artists. The Career Blueprint is a 3-day intensive at the National Opera America Center in New York and will provide career development such as mentoring with professionals, audio/video recordings, and website consultation.
Sara was one of 11 singers to participate in IRCPA’s Encounter with Adrianne Pieczonka, and the Singing Starts of Tomorrow performance that was held at Zoomer Hall in Toronto on November 5, 2018.
