Summer Student Job at seeks a Digital Content and Event Associate for a 7-week contract. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Digital Content and Event Associate will:

  • Assist in the conversion of data to our new customer relationship management software.
  • Research and update contact information for stakeholder including provincial and federal contacts and staff at government agencies, media, partners, funders.
  • Assist in the implementation of the new customer relationship management software by adding tags, communication preferences, and updating access and content for the members only and directory section.
  • Run a webinar/zoom conference for members introducing them to the new system and accessing member only and directory files.
  • Coordinate online registration, event details, and social media for the upcoming Vancouver/UBC Opera Summit.
  • Other duties as required


  • An understanding and appreciation for opera and of the Canadian opera sector.
  • Ability to multi-task; detail-oriented.
  • Strong digital skills/knowledge of content platforms such as Wordpress/Drupal
  • Experience working with Excel, databases or customer relationship management software (CRM)
  • Excellent social media skills
  • Strong member service skills and experience
  • Initiative and ability to work independently;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. An ability to understand and communicate verbally in French is considered an asset.


This position is funded through the Summer Experience Program, a program of the Ontario Ministry of Culture. To be eligible, you must be between the ages of 15 and 24 and have ‘student’ status. (to be eligible for this position you must be enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution, currently or for the fall semester, or have graduated in no earlier than January 2019.) The Digital Content and Event Associate position is a 7-week contract, 7.25 hours a day, 36.25 hours a week, $14/hour. The workplace is located at 401 Richmond Street West, Suite 350, Toronto, ON. The start date is July 2, 2019.
