We're Hiring - Strategic Projects Assistant

We're Hiring - Strategic Projects Assistant seeks a Strategic Projects Assistant for a 247 hour contract. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Strategic Projects Coordinator will assist across a number of strategic projects happening concurrently including:
  • Supporting and coordinating communications for the 20th Anniversary Projects including the announcement of new brand, new website, and all new brand collateral to members and stakeholders.
  • Assisting with funding proposals to support new projects such as the Young and Emerging Artist Fellowship program
  • Assisting with the coordination of the call for expressions of interest and application process for new projects, including providing administrative support to the selection process
  • Coordinating webinar/zoom conference calls for strategic consultations happening throughout the summer;
  • Providing support to the Digital Civic Impact Project as required.
  • Assisting with updating and maintaining website, social media accounts, newsletter, and database/CRM
  • other duties as required.
  • An understanding and appreciation for opera and of the Canadian opera sector.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. An ability to understand and communicate verbally in French is considered an asset.
  • Excellent social media skills
  • Excellent computer skills in Office365 as well as Google Suites. 
  • Experience working with Excel, databases or customer relationship management software (CRM)
  • Ability to multi-task; detail-oriented, flexible
  • Strong digital skills/knowledge of content platforms such as Wordpress
  • Ease, comfort and ability to work from home as part of a remote workforce until COVID19 re-openings allow for safe gatherings in a common workspace.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, initiative and ability to work independently;
This position is funded through the Summer Experience Program, a program of the Ontario Ministry of Culture. To be eligible, you must be a minimum age of 15 and have ‘student’ status. A student is defined as someone enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution (currently or for the fall semester) or has graduated within the past six months. If you graduated in January, you could apply for and start a summer student position in the Ontario Public Service up until June of that year. To ensure a safe working environment during COVID19, and to maintain physical distancing, this position will be a work-from-home, remote position in the beginning, moving to 401 Richmond Street West, Suite 350 when current public safety guidelines allow.
Allowances will provide a company laptop, access to a cloud-based server, email, Office 365, CRM, and zoom teleconferencing.
This a flexible position either full time over the course of 7-8 weeks, or part-time between July 1 and December 31 for students who want to work during the academic year or pursue other projects concurrently. Please indicate your preference in your cover letter.
$18/hour, 246 hours total contract. The target start date is July 6, 2020.
