The Association for Opera in Canada Launches New Professional Development Opportunity for Leaders
Leadership Advance is a new network by the Association for Opera in Canada designed to cultivate leadership learning opportunities, foster connections, and empower the Canadian opera community. The network is an opportunity for opera professionals to expand their expertise, build meaningful relationships, share strategies, and address common challenges in the opera sector through monthly network meetings and small group/one-on-one mentorship opportunities.
PROGRAM DETAILS
The network is designed to support opera professionals at all career stages and offers flexibility to accommodate different schedules. Members can join a 1.5-hour monthly network meeting (based on availability) and access optional mentorship and learning opportunities shared exclusively within the network.
- Monthly Group Sessions – From February to August 2025, participants will join engaging virtual sessions focused on fostering a network of communal support, sharing, and learning. Each monthly session features expert speakers, breakout discussions, and actionable follow-up opportunities.
- Mentorship Opportunities: Network members will have opportunities to virtually connect with mentors in small-group settings, based on shared learning goals, as well as through one-on-one mentorship. This programming reflects AOC’s belief that learning is universal and thrives within a community where everyone can grow by learning from one another.
- Networking and Collaboration: The Network fosters a supportive community where members can connect with peers and mentors to share insights, address challenges, and build lasting professional relationships.
