This category is defined in our bylaws as organizations that, in summary: 1) are registered non-profits or charities 2) have produced a staged / semi staged work (or digital equivalent) in the current year and each of the last two years 3) have at least one full time equivalent paid management staff 4) pay their artists.
Fee level is allocated by budget size based on a tier and percentage formula.

$250 – Associate
This category serves Indie Companies, Chamber Opera producers, Music Theatre and Musical Theatre producers and other related production companies and creation collectives, as well as performing arts presenting organizations that include opera in their seasons, ranging from smaller festivals to the National Arts Centre.

AOC Business members include Agents / Managers, Legal, HR, Organizational Management Consultants, Production, Fundraising and Transport services – the essential, often for-profit organizations and individuals who support the sector.

Ranging from larger university opera programs to summer opera institutes and Young Artist Training Programs, Educational Producing Associates are training grounds building the opera sector of tomorrow.

$100 – Opera Artist
Opera artists (including choreographers, composers, conductors, creators / producers, dancers, designers, directors, dramaturgs, instrumentalists, librettist, singers, stage directors and all other artists involved in the creation and production of opera) join AOC for
- professional development opportunities,
- opportunities to network and build community within their sector, and
- to have a voice at the advocacy table, to influence policy-making.
