Dorian Cox, Director, Ensemble Studio

Canadian Opera Company

Dorian represents the COC Ensemble Studio, a leading professional development program for emerging Canadian opera artists.

International Interests Include:

  • Developing an exchange program with European Young Artist Programs (launching 2026–27)
  • Providing Canadian artists with meaningful entry points into the European system while inviting European guest artists to Canada.

Robin Whiffen, Executive Director

Edmonton Opera

Robin leads Edmonton Opera, a western Canada opera company and regional hub for artist development and civic engagement.

International interests include:

  • Emerging Artist Program: Building international collaborations with Young Artist Programs, conservatories, and mid-size companies to exchange training opportunities.
  • Gender Equity in Opera Leadership: An MBA-level research project analyzing governance and leadership, with potential collaboration with EU equity researchers.

Looking to meet: ENOA, RESEO, and Opera Europa members in education, engagement, equity, and leadership.

Sylvain Cossette, President & Executive Director & Nathalie Deschamps, Artistic Director 

Les Productions du 10 Avril

Productions du 10 Avril creates versatile shows for diverse audiences, ranging from jazz concerts to opera and site-specific performances.

Works Include:

  • À toi, pour toujours, ta Marie-Lou based on Michel Tremblay’s iconic play (music by Airat Ichmouratov, libretto by Nathalie Deschamps). Workshop in 2025 with artists like Julie Boulianne, Étienne Dupuis and Rose Naggar-Tremblay; recording in 2026-2027; premiere 2027–28. Seeking European co-producers attuned to social issues and francophone dramaturgy for the recording and the creation.
  • Albertine en cinq temps, l’opéra – 38 performances across Québec, Ontario, and Paris (including 2024 Olympic Games). Now seeking European tour partners.

Njo Kong Kie, Artistic Producer

Music Picnic

Music Picnic produces original opera and music theatre works by Indonesian-born, Chinese Canadian composer Njo Kong Kie. These productions have reached audiences in festivals and venues in Canada, Australia, Mexico, Korea, Malaysia, Scotland and Estonia, among others.

Musique 3 Femmes commissions and champions new Canadian opera by women and diverse creators. Operas include:

  • A Prayer for Owen Meany(John Irving adaptation, mainstage full-scale opera in development, seeking co-producers.)

Opéra de Montréal

Jean-Pierre will present upcoming productions currently seeking co-producers and looks forward to connecting with potential partners at the Coproduction Marketplace and during speed-dating sessions.

Looking to meet : Co-producers for future collaborations, as well as partners to expand pedagogical and career development opportunities for the company’s artists-in-residence, leveraging the Opéra de Montréal’s network as a springboard for a European launch.

Soundstreams

Soundstreams tours innovative Canadian music theatre and opera internationally:

  • Two Odysseys: Pimooteewin / Gállábártnit  (2 one-act operas in Indigenous languages Cree & Sámi), co-produced with Beaivváš Sámi National Theatre (NO), Norrlandsoperan (SE), Arktisk Filharmoni (NO), Lapland Chamber Orchestra (FI), Invisible People Contemporary Dance Company (SE) – Nordic tour 2027 confirmed to Norway, Sweden, Finland.
  • Garden of Vanished Pleasures (music Cecilia Livingston/Donna McKevitt), staged song cycle inspired by the life and poetry of English filmmaker, author and queer rights activist Derek Jarman; premiered in Toronto (2025), with strong interest from major venues and festivals in the U.K., Netherlands and Belgium for a 2028 tour.
  • Hell’s Fury, The Hollywood Songbook with music by Hanns Eisler; Russell Braun, baritone; Michael Levine, design; Tim Albery, director. International touring in the planning stages.

Looking to meet: European opera houses, festivals and venues interested in Indigenous, contemporary, and socially engaged works.
