Theatre designer Mary Kerr won the 2020 Canada Council for the Arts Molson Prize in the arts category. Ms. Kerr has been involved in productions across the world, and her sets and costumes explore architectural concepts, scale, and unusual materials to provide satirical cultural commentary.
Every year, two Molson prizes of $50,000 are presented to distinguished Canadians—one in the arts and the other in the social sciences or humanities. The prize encourages Canadians honoured with this distinction to continue contributing to the cultural and intellectual life of Canada.
