A recent Zoom meeting brought together Agent and Manager members of the Association for Opera in Canada, from across the country.
Of note was concern regarding the current cost, and potential for increases in cost for the US P2 Visa.
The group also discussed their positivity around the National Auditions held a consortium of companies (led by Vancouver Opera and Sound the Alarm: Music/Theatre) and a consortium of Agents and Managers, with some administrative assistance by the Association. These auditions were held last November, just prior to AOC’s first COVID-era National Summit in Vancouver.
They look forward to opportunities to get together in person, hopefully at an upcoming AOC Summit, and at the OPERA America conference this May.
Overall, it was a productive meeting and a great opportunity for agents and managers in the opera industry to come together to discuss important issues.
