AOC Hosts Canada’s First National Indie Opera Producers Forum
On November 6 and 7 Association for Opera in Canada collaborated with re:Naissance Opera and Vancouver Opera to cohost the Indie Producers Forum, and New Opera, New Tech: Pitch Sessions.
Indie Producers Forum:
Held the afternoon of Saturday November 6, the Indie Producers forum brought together over 60 individuals and organizations to discuss topics including: marketing and PR, video production, smaller scale production of traditional repertoire, successful collaborations, and funding opportunities. There was also a meet and greet conversation with agents and managers, with a micro-focus on questions around contracting.
New Opera, New Tech: Pitch Sessions:
Held the afternoon of Sunday November 7, this session brought together 70 leaders, artists and innovators from the tech and opera sectors to network and pitch bold new ideas for performances and co-productions.
