AGM 2022 Highlights
The Association for Opera in Canada has released the highlights of its 2022 Annual General Meeting.
The association elected its board of directors, welcoming new member Robin Whiffen, the General Director of Against the Grain Theatre.
Board members rotating off the board at this AGM included Heather Kitchen, General Director of Calgary Opera, Alexandra Skoczylas, member-at-large, and mezzo-soprano Marion Newman.
The executive of the board Chair Michael Mori, Vice-Chair Ian Rye, and Secretary-Treasurer, Bruce Munro Wright were confirmed by the members.
The board members elected to a one-year term for 2023/24 were also announced.
For the year ending June 30, 2022, the Association for Opera in Canada announced a small operating surplus of $3,930. However, taking into account the change in market value of the association’s investment portfolio, the association posted an overall deficit of -$40,633.

Points saillants de l’AGA 2022
L’Association for Opera in Canada a publié les points saillants de son assemblée générale annuelle de 2022.
L’association a élu son conseil d’administration, accueillant un nouveau membre, Robin Whiffen, directeur général du théâtre Against the Grain.
Les membres du conseil d’administration qui ont quitté le conseil lors de cette AGA sont Heather Kitchen, directrice générale du Calgary Opera, Alexandra Skoczylas, membre à titre individuel, et la mezzo-soprano Marion Newman.
L’exécutif du conseil d’administration, composé du président Michael Mori, du vice-président Ian Rye et du secrétaire-trésorier Bruce Munro Wright, a été confirmé par les membres.
Les membres du conseil d’administration élus pour un mandat d’un an pour 2023/24 ont également été annoncés.
Pour l’exercice se terminant le 30 juin 2022, l’Association for Opera in Canada a annoncé un léger excédent de fonctionnement de 3 930 $. Toutefois, en tenant compte de la variation de la valeur marchande du portefeuille de placements de l’association, celle-ci a affiché un déficit global de -40 633 $.

Les faits saillants de l’année 2021/22 de l’association sont présentés, y compris de nombreuses nouvelles initiatives au service de notre plan stratégique, telles que : l’offre d’une formation sur l’équité aux hauts dirigeants d’opéra et aux membres du conseil d’administration des compagnies d’opéra, la création du cadre de résilience, le programme de bourses d’études et de mentorat RBC (dans sa deuxième année), le lancement d’une série de programmes intitulés ” Centering Artists “.
